The Foundation, through the Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital volunteer staff, carries out medical camps in different low income settlement areas through use of the mobile clinic. These outreach medical camps target both children and adults. The free services offered via the mobile clinic include: doctor’s consultation, laboratory services, pharmacy, VCT (Voluntary Testing & Counseling) for HIV, immunization and well-baby clinic services, nutrition services, dental services and hearing screening. The medical camps are usually conducted at local primary schools which also receive a first aid kit from the Gertrude’s Hospital Foundation. The Foundation identifies and takes up special case children who require further medical attention and treatment.
