Help fund chemo for kids

Around 3,000 children develop cancer in Kenya every year. Only about one in five is ever treated — not because treatment doesn’t work, but because families can’t pay for it.

A full course of childhood chemotherapy at Gertrude’s — drugs, labs, ward time and follow-up — costs about KES 250,000. For most families we see, that’s more than a year’s income. This campaign pays for complete treatment courses, start to finish, so no child begins chemo and has to stop.

Childhood cancers respond better to treatment than most adult cancers: with full treatment, most of these children reach cure. The KES 1,000,000 target funds four complete courses.
